Dear Jewish Gen members,
I'm an author and working on a book idea centred around the idea of a "wounder" - a
Russian Jew in mid-1800s whose job it is to maim children to avoid their
conscription into the Czar's army.
If you have any genealogical information/family history related to this activity (a
maimed relative, or one who maimed) and would be will to share it (in whatever
form), I'd be immensely appreciative.
Best,
Jacob Berkowitz
