Mike Karsen, president of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Illinois, will present
his program titled My Cousin, The Gangster at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 30, 2013, at the
JGSI annual meeting in Temple Beth Israel, 3601 W. Dempster St., Skokie.

Karsen will explain how he sorted through information in newspapers, books and
websites to determine what was true and what was speculation about his relative
Frank Frost, AKA Frank Foster, a real Chicago gangster who worked for Al Capone.

Besides being active in JGSI, Karsen is also a member of the Association of
Professional Genealogists and the Genealogical Speakers Guild, and he compiled
JewishGens Guide to Jewish Genealogy in Chicagoland.

The JGSI meeting facilities at Temple Beth Israel will open at 12:30 p.m. to
accommodate members/guests who want to use or borrow genealogy library materials,
get help with genealogy websites on the Internet, or ask genealogical questions
