As part of my general search for GRYNFARBs of Siedlce, Poland, I am
especially interested in Zvi Hersz GRYNFARB, born circa 1919 in Poland,
died 8 December 1947 in Palestine. He was a driver in the Royal Army
Service Corps, #32865, and died in an accident while in the Army in 1947
(according to a tiny blurb in The Palestine Post, 12 Dec 1947).
As he has the exact same name as my gggrandfather who was born in
Siedlce in 1831, I'm inclined to think we are related.
The U.K. Archives, holder of British Army in Palestine records, won't
release any files unless I can prove relationship or show a death
certificate, which appears to be non-existent. GRYNFARB was buried in
Nachlat Yitzhak Cemetery in Givataim, but his father's name - which is
what I would really like to know - is not mentioned.
I have an email inquiry in to the Central Zionist Archives, but so far no
acknowledgment or response.
Any suggestions as to how I can find out where in Poland Zvi Hersz
GRYNFARB was born and what his father's name was?
