JewishGen Discussion Group #JewishGen Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Orlando Sept 24 meeting #general

Lin <Lin2@...>

Our first meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 24--next week--at 7 pm at the Roth
Jewish Community Center, on Maitland Ave. next to Maitland Blvd. Most, if
not all of us, have been there before.

Our speaker is Steven Gataletto, the research librarian at the Orange County
History Center. His topic: "Remembering Orlando and Its Jewish Citizens".
You'll learn about prominent local Jewish citizens and their contributions
to our community.

And you will again see your friends and fellow Jewish genealogists, where you
can share your successes and challenges in your efforts to find and publish
your family's stories.

This event is free to JGSGO members, but there is a $5 fee for non-members.

To help you plan to attend our future meetings, here is the schedule of
upcoming meetings (which will be changed if scheduling issues occur). Please
print this list or add these dates to your calendar. As always, we will be
emailing you notices of each meeting, and posting the notices on our website,

Humphrey, will give the presentation, "Who Do You Think You Are, Bubala?"
Marlis was recently elected President of the International Association of
Jewish Genealogical Societies. The IAJGS is a global alliance of local and
regional Jewish Genealogical Societies, and the JGSGO is a member. This is
a tremendous accomplishment and honor for Marlis. Her efforts in the JGSGO
have brought you world-class speakers and presentations in our meetings.
Her years of genealogy, corporate, and travel experiences have helped all
of us learn new ways to do our research, and have greatly benefited the JGSGO.

Thank you
