I'd love to hear >from Genners who have stories of ancestors who fought in the Great War -- either with the American Expeditionary Forces or in one of the European armies. Did you ancestors see action? Were they wounded or gassed? What did they say about their years of service? Did they experience antisemitism while serving? Did they ever find themselves fighting against fellow Jews?
My great uncle Hyman Cohen served and was gassed at Soissons in 1918 -- I'm grateful that he included a bit about this in his self-published memoir.
