JGSMD would like to remind our members of our program on Sunday, Feb
23 (please note the location):
The next meeting of the JGSMD will be held on February 23, 2014, from
1:00 to 3:00 p.m., at Baltimore Hebrew Congregation (7401 Park Heights
at Slade Ave, Baltimore; enter parking lot >from Slade Ave).
Genealogist and historian Suzan Wynne will present "Helpful Records in
Tracking a Family." She will trace a Baltimore family via a multitude
of record sources, touching on Baltimore passenger ship records, city
directories, naturalization documents, and military records, and will
demonstrate a logical research strategy that attendees will be able to
apply to their own families' research.
The program is free for paid members and $5 for non-members (applied
to membership fee when a visitor joins JGSMD). Refreshments will be
available. Please check our web site at www.jewishgen.org/JGS-Maryland
for the time, location, and program of future meetings.
We also invite beginning family historians to attend a series of
genealogy workshops at the Pikesville Senior Center:
Dick Goldman, Co-President of JGS Maryland, is scheduled to teach a
series of workshops on "Digging Up Our Roots." These programs will
touch on virtually every aspect of family research.
