Robert Tachna asks how to obtain a 1924 death record listed in Warsaw's Nasz
Przeglad newspaper. According to information online, the years 1923-39 of this newspaper are available at the YIVO Library and at Harvard's Lamont Library, so I guess one would need to go to or contact one of those libraries, and ask to see the original notice in the newspaper. However, I am wondering if that is what Robert really wants, or if in fact what he is after is actually a death certificate for his relative. While the Polish State Archives hold vital records more than 100 years old, and JRI-Poland has many of them indexed and has some more recent records indexed from other sources, there is no index online as far as I know of vitalrecords less than 100 years old, which are held in the Civil Records Office (Urzad Stanu Cywilnego) of each city. So if Robert wants a 1924 death certificate, he would need to write to the Warsaw USC and ask about it. Fortunately, the Warsaw USC has a website which has all its contact details, and also has online (downloadable) application forms for births, deaths and marriages. It is in Polish, but I managed to negotiate it with online translations. The link directly to the section with the forms is: http://usc.um.warszawa.pl/wnioski-i-dokumenty I hope that helps!
