JGSCO Annual All Day Seminar with Dr. Rose Lerer Cohen

Registration deadline: Tuesday Sept. 2nd (pay by this date
to avoid a late fee)

Seminar details:

There will be lectures on four different topics. Your registration fee
enables you to attend all of them, or as many as you want. A kosher
lunch is also included with your registration fee.
As usual, we will offer some very generous door prizes; a partial
list of donors for these includes the Mizel Museum, Avotaynu, Family Tree DNA,
Mocavo, MyHeritage,,,,
Israel Genealogy Society, and East Side Kosher Deli.

The four lecture topics are as follows:

1. Genealogy Research - Workshop for Beginners and Refreshers

2. Locating Holocaust Survivors: Integrating Resources

3. Locating Israeli Relatives: Search Strategies

4. Migrations: Lithuanian and South African Research

Two ways to register:

Registration Fees (if paid by Sept. 2nd) which include all-day access
and a kosher lunch:

JGSCO members: $20

Guests: $40 which also includes a one year membership to the JGSCO

Guest Couples: $60 which includes a one year couples membership

Additional fees if paid after Sept. 2nd, including walk-ins: $20 per
person, member or guest

Dr. Rose Lerer Cohen is a genealogy, forensic and provenance researcher,
writer and lecturer. She has been carrying out family research since
1995 and has been a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists
since 1996. She established Kin-search in 2007 in order to bring together
the many different aspects of genealogy and research, which includes art

Holocaust research is one of her areas of expertise. She specializes in
documentation >from the International Red Cross Archives (ITS) in Bad Arolsen
and has succeeded in locating and connecting Holocaust survivors worldwide
by synthesizing data >from archives, pages of testimony >from Yad Vashem,
and ITS documents. Her other areas of research are eastern and western Europe,
Israel and South Africa. She maintains contact with a network of
professional genealogists and experts in many countries.

Dr. Lerer Cohen is situated in Jerusalem and has access to Yad Vashem,
the Central Zionist Archives (CZA), the Central Archive of the History
of the Jewish People (CAHJP), and the American Joint Distribution Committee
(AJDC) Archive.
