Thanks to everyone who responded to my request for information on finding my great grandmother's death date. Thanks to you, I now have both the date and death certificate number (she is listed as Beckie POPKIN), which I'm hoping will reveal additional interesting tidbits. There's always another mystery waiting to be discovered!
