I have several female relative who show up in the JRI-Poland records as SerkaBarbara,
for a first name. They were known as Sarah to us. I am wondering if the name
Serka was the Polish or Policized version of Sarah rather than Tsirke as a
biblical name?
This is indeed a case. Both Sarka and Serka are "polonized" version of Sara,
