Jewish Genealogical Society of North Jersey Meeting
Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 7:30 PM
YMCA, 1 Pike Drive, Wayne, NJ
Speaker: Avraham Groll
Program: How did Jews Get to Europe? - Part II
Avraham will give us Part II of his fascinating presentation about
how and why our ancestors moved around the diaspora. He will focus
on the European Jewish communities that existed in parallel with
those located in Israel and then Babylonia. He will discuss how
they were first established and why they did not become major
centers until the 10th century. Understanding Jewish migration
patterns, and the circumstances under which they operated, will
grant us a deeper understanding of our own collective Jewish
istory, and a greater appreciation for our Jewish family history.
Avraham Groll is the Director of Business Operations for JewishGen.
After studying in Israel at Yeshivat Ohr Yerushalayim, he received
a BS >from Ramapo College, and an MBA >from Montclair State
University. He is currently pursuing an MA in Judaic Studies at
Touro College. He is married to Dina, and has three children,
Chaim, Miriam and Shifra.
Refreshments are served. All are welcome.
