identifies information in more than 551,000 pages of historical
directories (business, address, telephone, etc., mostly >from
Central and Eastern Europe), 71,000 pages of 155 yizkor books
(memorials to Jewish communities destroyed in the Holocaust),
...) I have been able to verify that my maternal great
grandfather lived at 17 Nowy Swiat. Thanks to the hard work
of Claire Hisler Shefftz in translating her father's writings,
I know that one of the survivors of Kolomea, Avram, son of
Izrael TERNER, lived at 17 Nowy Swiat. I now know that the
son of my grandmother's brother survived the Holocaust. This
is a mitzvah! This gives me hope that I might find a descendant
of his.
