Annette sought her relative Chaim FEIGELMANN who left >from Hamburg in
January 1899 age 30. She knew he was in New York City for the 1900
20 census. She asked if anyone could find Chaim arriving in NYC.
But there were so many other possible ports of entry to America.
I believe I found Chaim leaving England as Chaim VOGELMAN (not too
far-fetched since Vogel and Feigl both mean "bird") transcribed
on the out-going manifest as Oogelman and entering Canada at St
John, New Brunswick in March 1899, headed to New York City.
The name was further mangled so that it appears on the incoming manifest
in Canada as BOGILMAN.
