JewishGen Discussion Group #JewishGen Help with access to free Census records #general

Jan Meisels Allen

Lois,

As I posted to this discussion group on June 10 this should help you:

Findmypast is offering free access to all US censuses 1790-1940. Registration
is required with your name, email address and password. No credit card
information is required. No cut-off date was mentioned on the site. This was
announced on the Findmypast blog

Go to:
http://www.findmypast.com/index/census-records?_ga=1.76589341.922071994.1458759583

In addition, FamilySearch has the following years of the US Federal Census
digitized 1850-1940 (they are a partner with the National Archives) and
those that are digitized may be found at:
https://familysearch.org/wiki/en/United_States_Federal_Census
Scroll down to availability.

Both mentioned above are free sites. You can of course go to a public
library or Family History Center to access subscription sites at no cost
such as Ancestry.com and MyHeritage.com, both of which include the US
Federal Census records.

I would truly appreciate your help. I would like to find a Free site in
order to do some Census look-ups.
