I have someone who was born in Koleszirken, Russia according to
the 1908 Ellis Island transcription of passenger record.
I've tried various searches using the JewishGen Communities
Database, but so far no luck.
In 1941 on her California naturalization, she states she was born
in Neustadt, Russia. In 1954 when she traveled by ship >from
New York to Haifa she lists her place of birth as Lithuania.
Searching for Neustadt I find two possibilities based on the
fact that they have been both Russian and Lithuanian:
Kudirkos Naumiestis, Lithuania and Zemaiciu Naumiestis, Lithuania.
I would appreciate any help.
