JewishGen Discussion Group #JewishGen International Tracing Service Research Requests #general

Since receiving a digital copy of International Tracing Service (ITS)
holdings, the United States Holocaust Museum Memorial Museum (USHMM) has
fulfilled more than 24,000 individual requests for information relating to
Holocaust survivors, their families and families of victims. Requests for
searches of USHMM holdings by survivors or their representatives can
continue to be sent to . The
Museum regrets that other individual search requests cannot be handled in a
timely manner at this time.

In addition, more than 4.2 million names are searchable online through the
Museum's Holocaust and Survivors and Victims Database. More than 2 million
of these are directly linked to the documents on which they appear, and
digital copies can be ordered online free of charge.

Moreover, the Museum encourages people to come to the Museum, if possible,
to research Museum holdings for themselves. The Museum is open every day
10:00-5:00 except Yom Kippur and Christmas.
