The (US) National Archives announced on February 5, 2018 that due to a major
theft of records by a private researcher in the College Park, Maryland
research facility (see IAJGS Records Access Alert January 13, 2018) they are
ending the practice of team cards and sharing of record pulls by
researchers. An update on that theft is available at:

where the thief pled guilty and may be sentenced up to 10 years in prison.

Effective immediately no new team cards will be issued. Existing team cards
will expire on March 30, 2018.

Effective April 2, 2018 only one researcher name is permitted on a reference
slip limiting the records' use to the person named on reference slip
