JewishGen Discussion Group #JewishGen Searching for towns in Yiddish per ancestors' pronunciation #general

I just realized that when we are searching for towns, we may be searching for
the name in Yiddish as pronounced by our ancestors.

Perhaps there is a way to translate the Yiddish name into Polish or Russian
and then be able to find it. I don't know if has such a link or
not. It seems it would be helpful to our researchers.

My thoughts.
