The United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) will be
holding a live webinar on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 1:00PM Eastern.
The webinar will not be recorded, therefore, the only opportunity to hear
this is when it is broadcast live.

The Webinar: An overview of the Immigration Service's World War I soldier
naturalization program. The webinar will also review naturalization records
created by the program and explore some of the unique research challenges
the records present.

History

During World War I Congress passed acts to expedite naturalizations. This
was because nearly one-fifth of the American forces were foreign-born and to
encourage immigrant enlistments and to naturalize service personnel before
they shipped out.
