Re: On line privacy etc. #galicia

E-mail lists are not and should not be the same thing as bulletin
boards. A posting to a list should only be accessible to people on that
list. It should not be searchable on a web site. If postings to the
list are automatically transferred to the bulletin board, that should be
noted. I would still like to have the emails I sent removed >from the
bulletin board. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

I don't have concerns about the journal because I have never seen it and
don't know what is in it. Written Journals are searchable, but in a
much less accessible way. This makes them less invasive.

I would be interested to know how other people feel about having their
family information immediately available at the click of a Google
button. I was very suprised to see that I no longer have any privacy at
all, not because of postings to this list, but through other
organizations that I belong to.
I do have concerns about this, and I would like to know if this has come
up before.

I did want to hear what other people thought about this.

If you have concerns about the journal, then you should have the SAME
concerns about belonging to the SIG and sending emails like this one.
