Under the Austrians, Glinyany, then called Gliniany was the center of a
subdistrict in the Prszemsylany district.

It may be of interest to some that there was also a place called Gliniany=

(no doubt a much smaller place) in the Kamionka Strumlowa district, Busk
subdistrict. This locality is not included in Suzan Wynne's listing of
Galician Administrative Districts, so probably had no Jewish residents in=

1872.
