Legacy Family Tree Webinars, part of the My Heritage family of companies,
added closed captioning to its service, thereby expanding to those in the
genealogical community access that are hearing impaired, by providing
access to Legacy's webinar genealogy and DNA education program. It is a
full human-curated transcription via synced subtitles and is available as an
option for all live and members-only webinar recordings released since May
1, 2018. Additionally, the most popular 50 webinars on the platform and all
MyHeritage-specific webinars have been captioned. Going forward, Legacy will
add captioning to the all the new webinars. In addition to the hearing
impaired, this new service helps those to non-native English speakers who
struggle with spoken English by have an easier time with written English.

Legacy has plans in 2019 which includes hosting webinars in non-English
language as well as the translation of English captions to select foreign
languages.

To access closed captioning, webinar viewers may click on the blue CC icon
in the lower right-hand side of the video interface. For a list of the over
200 webinars which have the closed captioning feature go to:
https://familytreewebinars.com/archived_webinars_by_caption.php Access to
the archived webinars requires a subscription. Going forward this service
will be available on the LIVE webinars for those who do not have a
subscription.
