AOL subscribers #galicia

Beverly <bev7@...>

This is copy of e-mail that has been distributed to subscribers of other
lists. I don't know if this is a problem for any of our Galicianers, but if
it is, this information might be helpful.

o MAIL DELIVERY PROBLEM:
Subscribers using AOL as their Internet Service Provider report that they do
not receive all their maillist messages. It appears to be an AOL problem
that AOL Tech Support has not addressed.

o SOLUTIONS:
One solution is to open a secondary free email account with HotMail, Yahoo,
Juno or other free email provider of your choice. Then subscribe to the
maillist >from the new address to insure reliable delivery. Another solution
is to search the archives for missed mail. (But if its missing how do you
know its missing?). See instructions below

o LIST OF FREE E-MAIL PROVIDERS
- MSN HotMail HotMail@...
- Yahoo! Mail http://mail.yahoo.com/
- Juno http://dl.www.juno.com/get/web/#
- Directory of 1,100 free email services
http://www.emailaddresses.com/guide_types.htm

o TO MANAGE YOUR SUBSCRIPTION:
Go to the JewishGen WebForm to manage your subscription. There you can
easily subscribe/unsubscribe, digest/nodigest, mail/nomail.
http://www.jewishgen.org/listserv/sigs.htm
Subscribe >from your new address and when you see that it functions properly,
unsubscribe >from your old address.

o SEARCH ARCHIVES FOR MISSED MAIL
Messages previously posted to the SIG mailing lists can be searched, using
the JewishGen SIG Lists Message Archive.
http://www.jewishgen.org/wconnect/wc.isa?jg~jgsys~sigspop
Use the 'date range' to limit your searches to only recent messages, by
specifying a different start date.

And may your mail delivery problems be resolved!
