Through interlibrary loan, I have collected 6 volumes that list Jews
who served in the armed forces in Poland during World War II. The
author is Benjamin Meirtchak. (Details are below.) Within each
volume, there are many separate lists, thereby making a thorough
search for a surname across all of the volumes quite tedious. It
would certainly be useful to have these lists available on the web.
I count about 600 pages in these books, for a total of (likely) over
ten-thousand names. Has anyone considered trying to make such a
database on the web? Or perhaps does one already exist?
