Dear JRI-Poland reader:

It has been unusually challenging to raise the $1100 needed to fund the
Jewish Records Indexing - Poland project to index the Jewish vital records of Piaski Luterskie (Lublin District). Piaski is a town just one kilometer >from the City of Lublin and many of the surnames found in Piaski records are also found in Lublin records.

JRI-Poland paid to have the 7481 entries for the years the Mormons did not
microfilm (1856- 1900) photocopied and typed >from the Cyrillic (Russian)

Thanks to the generosity of on-line Piaski researchers, we have raised $554 so far. We must raise another $273 by midnight December 31, 2003 to qualify for matching grant money. If we do not raise the entire $273 by December 31st, we will not be eligible for any of the matching grant money.

For some reason, many Piaski researchers have not been in a financial
position to make a donation before now. I have been touched by the number of thoughtful replies to my emails >from Piaski researchers over the past year and a half, indicating a desire to help, but for difficult current personal situations.

If you are able to help now, PLEASE make a contribution as soon as possible. It would be a shame to lose out on this matching grant opportunity.

Contributions of any size will help us reach our goal and whatever help you
can give is greatly appreciated!

The records won't be posted live on the JRI-Poland database until we have
raised the full $1100, but a contribution of $100 or more and signing a Piaski database sharing agreement will enable donors to qualify for their own copy of the Piaski PSA 1856-1900 Excel spreadsheet sent via email.
Donations to JRI-Poland are tax-deductible for US taxpayers as JRI-Poland has received 501(c)(3) status >from the IRS.
