JRI Poland #Poland BialyGen Meeting at the Jewish Genealogy Conference #poland

Dear Bialystok Area Researchers:

The summer Conference on Jewish Genealogy will soon be upon us, starting
a week >from Sunday in Salt Lake City. As has been our practice since our
founding in 2003, a BialyGen meeting is scheduled. BialyGen is a
JewishGen SIG group. This meeting will be held on Monday, July 16 from
5:00 PM to 6:15 PM in the Granite Conference Center.

I hope all of you attending the Conference will plan to attend. For
those new to BialyGen, we cover the area near Bialystok that was part of
Grodno Gubernia prior to WWI. At this session we will introduce everyone
to BialyGen, its purpose, its website and its projects. Our website is
at http://www.shtetlinks.jewishgen.org/bialygen/index.htm.

We will also review the progress of our JewishGen Yizkor Book project to
translate the definitive history of Jewish Bialystok -- Pinkas
Bialystok, a two-volume history written in Yiddish by Abraham Hershberg
before he perished in the Bialystok Ghetto. The webpage for this project
can be found at http://www.shtetlinks.jewishgen.org/bialygen/Pinkos.htm.

We will also be discussing future projects for BialyGen. We need ideas
and volunteers.

See you in Salt Lake City.
