JRI Poland #Poland JRI-Poland AGAD Indexing Drohobycz Galicia #poland

Mark Jacobson

Recently JRI-Poland resumed indexing vital records (births, marriages,
deaths) for Eastern Galicia housed at the AGAD Archive in Warsaw, Poland.
Under the new agreement with the Polish State Archives (PSA), JRI-Poland
will be indexing records that previously were not available due to the 100
year privacy law in Poland. For Drohobycz, this includes: Birth: 1906-1911
Marriages: 1907-1911 Death: 1906-1911. These records are not available
online or on LDS microfilms. They are only at the AGAD Archive in Warsaw.

If you are not familiar with the JRI-Poland database, please go to the
JRI-Poland homepage http://jri-poland.org/ to find out more. By clicking on
"Search the database," you can search the existing indexes (with image
links) that include all available Drohobycz records at the AGAD Archive
before 1906.For more information see the JRI-Poland page for the New AGAD
Archives Project: http://www.jri-poland.org/agad/2012transfers.htm

All JRI-Poland projects are funded by researcher contributions. JRI-Poland
will not load these indices to the online database until the funds to pay
for them have been raised. This indexing has already begun for Drohobycz.
JRI-Poland estimates the cost to complete the indexing of these Drohobycz
records is $1250. We are dependent on the generosity of those who benefit
from the database. You will be the beneficiary of your own gift as will
future generations of researchers. Please contribute what you can. No
donation is too small but if you contribute at least $100 towards this
Drohobycz project you will receive a personal copy of the excel file
containing all the Drohobycz records that are being indexed. The sooner
we receive contributions, the sooner the record indices will be available
online for everyone to research.

The webpage for contributions to JRI Poland is here:

JRI-Poland is an independent non-profit tax exempt organization under
Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code and is fully
deductible for taxpayers in the United States. All contributions should
be marked "FOR AGAD PROJECT/ DROHOBYCZ"

Thank you very much for your support of this project.
