JRI Poland #Poland Mikolajow near Brody: Cadastral Map 1888 on the Gesher Galicia Map Room #poland
A new town center cadastral map for Mikolajow in the Brody
administrative district (today in Ukraine) has been uploaded to Gesher
Galicia's Map Room:
This four-color cadastral map for Mikolajow (Mykolaiv, Mykolayiv) was
surveyed and lithographed in 1888. The town is located here on both
sides of the Sydylowka (Sudylivka) River near Radziechow (Radekhiv)
and Brody. Buildings and land parcels are clearly marked; this late
imperial map shows property numbering evidence of extensive building
additions and parcel splits since the original survey and numbering.
Nearly all buildings in town are wooden, including the largest church,
and there is no defined market square. Much of the land is marked with
symbols indicating marshes and other watery soils.

Note to researchers: there are two other Mikolajows: one in the Bobrka
(Bibrka) and the other in the Zydaczow (Zhydachiv) Galician
administrative districts. We are working to obtain maps for these
towns as well.
