JRI Poland #Poland For Sniatyn (Galicia) Researchers #poland

Mark Halpern

Dear Sniatyn Researchers:

Many of you may know that most of the Sniatyn Jewish vital records were
destroyed during World War I. Maybe your search has bogged down.
JRI-Poland has some good news.

Marriages >from 1905 through 1914 are now available as are a group of
re-created births and marriages covering years 1863 through 1914. These
re-created records were recorded after World War I when Jewish citizens
required proof of birth and marriage documents that were destroyed
during the War. These re-created documents do not cover nearly all the
records that were destroyed, but, if a re-created document exists, it
may contain more information than the original document.

In addition to these two collections of Sniatyn record indices,
JRI-Poland also has access to a third collection.

If you are interested, please contact me privately.

As with all of JRI-Poland's town projects, interested researchers are
the ones who fund the project with their contributions. With a
contribution of $100 or more, you can qualify to receive these indices
in Excel format before the indices are placed online. To make a
contribution, please go to http://www.jri-poland.org/support.htm and be
sure to apply your contribution to "AGAD-Sniatyn."
