JRI Poland #Poland Re: Poland + Ukraine 1764-1766 Jewish census images online for some towns #poland

Miriam Bulwar David-Hay

I have previously seen mentions of this census in various historical
texts, usually in yizkor books that state the population of a town in
the years before the Holocaust. However, I never knew there were
actual census books around, and I was just thrilled to learn about
this! Much gratitude to Logan Kleinwaks, whose wonderful work over the
years has been invaluable to Jewish genealogy in general and to my
research personally.

I am now wondering if other old census books >from other towns/regions
in Poland exist and can be seen somewhere, whether in archives and/or
online. I am particularly interested in the town of Kaluszyn, east of
Warsaw (which was in a region owned by the Opacki family until the
mid-19th century), as well as several other towns in Congress Poland.

Does anyone know if there is a list somewhere of which census books
exist for which towns? I would be most appreciative for any
information.

Thanking you in advance,
Miriam Bulwar David-Hay,
