Latin America #LatinAmerica RE: PARDO from Hamburg Altona to Venezuela & Curacao #latinamerica

Dear Genners,

A key to finding your South American cousins are the wonderful South
American telephone books on line. You need to know just a few words in
Spanish; White is Blancas
Surname is Apellido
First name is Nombre,
Search is Buscar

You can find a number of International Telephone books at Do not be put off if
the link that you want says Yellow Pages, there might be white pages
there as well (which is the case with Venezuela). Unlike Argentina, you
do need to specify a city. Leaving the city at Caracas, a search for
PARDO netted 17 pages of results, with one David PARDO and one Isaac
PARDO. However the Venezuelan phone book does not provide any address,
so the only option is to call. If you are not fluent in Spanish, I
suggest either finding a friend who is, or making arrangements with a
language line. (I understand ATT maintains one). I would suggest
looking through the list of PARDOs in the Venezuelan phone book for
other potential first names.

Also at the top of the page is a small link that says "email search",
typing in PARDO and selecting Venezuela, gave me over 10 pages of
information (some with addresses, but no Isaac or David). One
advantage to email is the ability to use the free computer translation
services, but they are definitely inferior to using a good human

I have found that many of my South American cousins can read English,
even if they can not speak or write it.

Good luck with your research.
