Re: Kolomeyya-Typhus Deaths #galicia

There was a typhus epidemic in Galicia during the war.
Many died. The only records I know of would be the
official death records which would exist in the Warsaw
archives. My grandfather in Drohobycz had Typhus in
1916 and almost died. He was in a coma. It delayed his
entry into the Austrian army until 1917. His mother
wouldn't put him in a hospital or let the authorities
take him into a hospital because people were dying so
fast in hospitals >from Typhus. She hid him in the
attic and took care of him until he recovered.
