Latvia SIG #Latvia Minimum age for Courland Enlistment Register #latvia

Stan Hertzbach <sshertzbach@...>

In the description of the Courland Family Lists database it is stated that
the Recruits Enlistment Registers database "concentrates primarily on the
adult members of the households and does not generally record child entries
from the original list."
Can anyone tell me what was used as an age cutoff?
I see names down to about 10 years of age, but almost nothing below that.

I ask because I'd like to understand if an individual listed in the
Courland Vendomosti database in 1859 might be part of a family group in the
1845 Mitau (Jelgava) Recruits Enlistment Register, although his name does
not appear there. (I suspect I will eventually be asking the Latvian
Archives to complete the connection for me.)

Thanks,
Stan Hertzbach
