Latvia SIG #Latvia Military Awards for Russian Jews Serving During World War I #latvia

Ann Rabinowitz

There are references to Jews who served during World War I and received awards
for bravery. Some of these are are found in the June 18, 1915 issue of The
Jewish Chronicle. Unfortunately, no first names or place of origin are given.
Many of those given awards were quite young and received more than one award.
In addition, a number of those who were given awards were prevented >from being
acknowledged in the press by the military censor.
