I am very pleased to announce that Deena Berton, who is the coordinator of
the Telsiai District Research Group, has agreed to take over the Siauliai
Group responsibilities as the new Coordinator. Deena is a friend and
neighbor and we have worked together over the last 10 years on various
projects and even traveled to the Lithuanian archives in 2000 in an effort
to expedite the acquisition of records.

Deena is a computer guru by occupation and has recently created a fabulous
web page for the Telsiai Group to facilitate the flow of information. She
will immediately begin to do the same for the Siauliai Group and we will be
working together to get the data posted.

I have been in charge of the Siauliai Group since its inception in 1998 and
can assure you all that it couldn't be in better hands than those of Deena
Berton.

Thank you all for the many flattering letters you sent to me in
acknowledgement of my resignation last month. I am sure you will give Deena
a warm welcome.
