There are only 37 days until the 30th IAJGS Conference at the JW Marriott Hotel at L.A. Live, but it's not too late to sign up for the genealogical event of a lifetime. We are offering over 300 programs, films, workshops and gatherings with over 200 international lecturers, professors and archivists. Maureen estimates that she?s studied over 10,000 photos in the past decade and The Wall Street Journal recently called her ?the nation?s foremost historical photo detective.? If you would like to have her analyze your own family photographs, she will be offering 15 minute individual consultations at her table in the vendor room. To sign up send Maureen an email (mtaylor@...) and attach scans of the picture(s) you?re interested in having her examine. She?ll fill you in on the special conference attendee rate via email. Cohn, the ?Photo Genealogist? who will also be lecturing on Sunday on photo analysis with a focus on Jewish photographic analysis. Tour Date Correction: The date for the tour of the new Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust is Tuesday, July 13. The Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust is the oldest Holocaust museum in the United States and the Museum?s board president, Randy Schoenberg will personally guide you on a tour of the Museum's new permanent home built into a hillside in Pan Pacific Park. You will be one of the first official visitors to this stunning cultural institution, in which state-of-the-art exhibits depict the history of the Holocaust. The Museum's mission of Holocaust education and commemoration includes opportunities for in-depth research in many areas, including Jewish genealogy and a buffet kosher dinner will also be served before returning to the Marriott. The tour runs from 4:15PM ? 7:15PM.
