Marriott Hotel at L.A. Live, but it's not too late to sign up for the

Midnight with the Mavens! A conference first.....

Genealogists are famous for being night owls who stay up late working
into the wee small hours. For those of our with boundless energy who
want to expand these already long days by a few more hours and get up
close and personal with some of our special speakers, archivists and
know-it-alls, join us for ?Midnight with the Mavens? in the
Presidential Suite >from 10:45PM ? Midnight, Monday through Wednesday.
Enjoy wine and cheese and yummy snacks at these chatty, informal

Ancestry.com is excited to provide IAJGS Conference attendees the

conference, for free, on their professional scanning equipment. It?s
a unique opportunity to have your family history records digitized!

Photo Consultation Services at the Conference

For the past 10 years, Maureen Taylor, ?The Photo Detective,? has
been providing in-depth analysis of historical photos, primarily for
people who are researching their family histories. Maureen estimates
that she?s studied over 10,000 photos in the past decade and The Wall
Street Journal recently called her ?the nation?s foremost historical
photo detective.? If you would like to have her analyze your own
family photographs, she will be offering 15 minute individual
consultations at her table in the vendor room. To sign up send Maureen
an email (mtaylor@...) and attach scans of the
picture(s) you?re interested in having her examine. She?ll fill you
in on the special conference attendee rate via email. You can also
stop by her booth to watch a consultation in progress if you like!

Note that we will also have another photo consultant in the vendor
room as well -- Ava ?Sherlock? Cohn, the ?Photo Genealogist? who will
also be lecturing on Sunday on photo analysis with a focus on Jewish
photographic analysis.

Tour Date Correction:

The date for the tour of the new Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust
is Tuesday, July 13.

The Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust is the oldest Holocaust museum
in the United States and the Museum?s board president, Randy
Schoenberg will personally guide you on a tour of the Museum's new
permanent home built into a hillside in Pan Pacific Park. You will be
one of the first official visitors to this stunning cultural
institution, in which state-of-the-art exhibits depict the history of
the Holocaust. The Museum's mission of Holocaust education and
commemoration includes opportunities for in-depth research in many
areas, including Jewish genealogy and a buffet kosher dinner will
also be served before returning to the Marriott. The tour runs from
4:15PM ? 7:15PM. Pricing is on our website--and don't forget about
our other walking tours of Jewish/historic Los Angeles, and our Jewish
heritage tour of the Hollywood Forever cemetery on Sunday and
Wednesday.
