Re: Origins of the female name Cyrel, Ciral or Ceral #galicia

Dear Marlene and cousins,

The Yiddish name Tzeryl or Tziril - note 2 syllables -
is a diminuative for Sarah - which mean princess.

Tsirl is one syllable and means jewel or gem.

My ggggrandmother's name was Cyrel, Ciral or Ceral and
she was born about 1840 in Galicia. Does anybody know
the origins of this somewhat unusual name.
