On the JRI-Poland site, there's a good bit of pre-1826 Jewish vital
records available, under the heading of patronymic data. These
records, for the towns listed, seem to be extracted >from Catholic
records. As far as I understand, Jewish vital records were intermixed
with those of the Catholics, >from about 1808 onwards.

Do the towns in Lithuania have a similar wealth of data? For example,
the ePaveldas site has a large majority of the Catholic metrical books

from Lithuania digitized. Would it be worth looking in those books,

for Jewish records? Or is this something that was only done in
Poland?
