"Pazalva" most likely refers to the town of Zelva, Lithuania, which
was known as Podzelve in Yiddish, Pozel've in Russian, and Pozelwa in
Polish. Zelva was located in the Ukmerge (formerly Vilkomir) district
of Kovno guberniya in the Russian Pale of settlement.
I did not find anyone named Kadish, Kadishewitz or Resnick in Podzelve
listed in the records, but there were Kadisheviches in
several nearby towns, especially Anyksciai, 22 miles away, and
Resnicks in many of the same nearby towns.
