Re: Eastern Galician towns on the Russian border #galicia

Fine Family <mafine@...>

On the death certificate for one of my gguncles >from Skala it says that
the family lived in Trojca (a small village just south of Skala) and
that my Uncle had been born in Russia (1881). All these towns were right
on the border with Russia. Was it common for Jews to live on both sides
of the border? And if he was born on the Russian side of the border
where would those birth and death records be now? Which archive? Any
ideas?
Thanks
