Please does anyone have knowledge or experience on Jewish or any other
newspapers servicing the Lodz area in the period 1910 to 1940? I am looking
for a newspaper likely to have had birth, marriage and death notices of the
Jewish community, and obituaries of prominent Lodz residents. My grandfather
Yosef Abersztajn apparently died in 1936 and had 1,000 people at his
funeral. So I am looking for a newspaper report and or obituary. Any help
gratefully received.

There is a web page on the Lodz ShtetLinks site which lists Lodz Jewish
periodicals:
http://www.shtetlinks.jewishgen.org/Lodz/periodical.htm

These were microfilmed and may be accessed as noted on the web page. The
major pre-war Jewish periodicals were "Lodzer Folksblat" and "Lodzer
Togeblat," both of which are located at Harvard University library.
