Can anyone enlighten me as to the text of the signature of R' Wolf
(Binyamin Ze'ev) HEIDENHEIM, author of the first siddur with German
translation (in Hebrew and later German characters. The version was
also known as the Roedelheim Siddur after the town where it was
published. On a visit to Germany I recently saw a modern Swiss
reprint--nearly two centuries after the original.
The neat but ornate signature has puzzled me since childhood. I
think I can now make out all but one word.
I read <Wolf b"r Shimshon ?? Ish Heidenheim>. What's that 2- or
3-letter word in the middle?
