Some years ago I posted for information about Rav Ya'akov Segel of Turicza in western Ukraine who had a daughter, Leah or Leni, who married in 1863. It seems that "Segel" was probably not the family name but the honorific acronym that Rabbis of Levite descent often used. In a later census, the Rav's daughter was called Leni Y(J)ACOBOVITS. Rav Ya'kov survived into the 1870s as he was sendak to several of his grandchildren.
