The WIRTH group looks at Y-DNA (www.wirthdna.com), so I assume that David
is looking for Y-DNA research projects.

It *may* be possible for endogamous autosomal DNA to detect relationships
farther back than 5th cousins, but I don't think anyone has yet been able
to prove it.

Greetings, everyone. It turns out that my DNA results indicate that I am not
a direct descendant >from Rabbi Yaakov ben Yehuda Weil but >from another line
via one of his grandfather's or great-grandfather's brothers instead.
Now it is said that he was a descendant of both Nachmanides and Rabbi Meir
of Rothenburg. Since it is unknown if I would share that descent via
marriage of his grandfather, great-grandfather etc. as opposed to descent
from a brother of theirs, the only way would be to compare DNA results with
those who claim descent >from Nachmanides and/or Maharam Rothenburg in the
same manner the Weil connection is done in the WIRTH group.
Does anyone know whether such DNA testing has been ever done for descent
from Nachmanides and/or Maharam Rothenburg?
