Does anyone know what happened to the records of births, deaths, and
marriages that were kept by the rabbi of Briceni prior to 1895? He
apparently recorded these events for all shtetls in northern Bessarabia,
including my ancestral towns of Briceni, Corjeuti and Sekurany. I am trying
to find out if there is still a rabbi in Briceni, which I doubt, or what
happened to those records.
