(Leib?) KUSHNIR Place Of Birth and family history in Romania/Bessarabia."

You might find a clue by locating where others with this surname lived in
Romania in 1924/1925, according to the business directory of that date made
available by the Library of Congress. You can search the business directory
at www.kalter.org/search (scroll down to the orange area). A
Daitch-Mokotoff Soundex search for [k]ushnir reveals matches spelled as
Kusnir, Kusner, Kisner, Kasner, Kesner, Keshner, Kisznir, etc. To view an
image number that interest you, just click on the title of the corresponding
directory above the search box, and you will be directed to a Library of
Congress website, where you can type the number into the box next to the
"Turn to image" button, and then click the button.
