Well Dan, that is why JewishGen is here...to help; we have great

I went to the JewishGen Shtetl Seeker and keyed in Lvov, found its
coordinates (4950/2400), then keyed in Glyniane and asked that the
results give the distances >from 4950/2400. Result: the town Glinyany
is located 23 miles east of L'viv, had a large jewish population
(2418 in 1910) and with a click I saw a Mapquest map, noting that
on that map it is today Hlynjany.
Next stop, the researcher database JGFF... and looked for a "sounds
like" match for Glinyany in the Ukraine. 31 fellow researchers!

were only 28 miles south in Rohatyn.
