There are only a few days left to take advantage of the early bird
registration discount, which will end April 30.

The Conference Program is online at http://www.philly2009.org/program.cfm
and is a complete listing of all the lectures, workshops, Breakfast with
Experts, and SIG luncheons. In addition, a Film Festival is in development
and will be added to the Program soon. The dates and times of the programs
are still subject to change.

Since our previous Program posting, we have added a very exciting and
interesting program for Wednesday evening - "Yiddish in Story, Poem and
Song." Combining lecture, recordings and live performance, ethnographer and
performer Michael Alpert (Brave Old World - Klezmer musicians) and cultural
historian Michael Steinlauf (Gratz College Professor of History) collaborate
on a personal guided tour through centuries of Yiddish cultural creation.

The program is rich and varied. Speakers >from all over the Jewish World will
share their expertise with us including speakers >from Austria, Belgium,
France, Israel, Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, South Africa,
Ukraine, and United Kingdom.

New this year are Hands-on Workshops on Sunday afternoon August 2 and Friday
morning August 7. Learn how to read Polish and Cyrillic records. Attend a
Jewish cooking demonstration >from two well-known cookbook authors. Learn
from an expert to identify family photographs by researching photographers,
dating costume clues and comparing facial characteristics. Learn >from
experts to preserve important documents and photographs in your collections.

Take some time, review the program, decide which programs you would like to
attend and then register for the Conference. Go directly to
http://www.philly2009.org/registration_information.cfm to register. You
will not regret your decision.

See you in Philadelphia this August.
