The Lithuanian Names Project has stimulated my interest in Jewiish
Lithuanian family surnames. . When processesing the project name
submission forms, and also when reading Litvaksig, I have come accross
numerous surname changes As we know, this occurs for a number of
reasons ranging >from dodging the draft to immigration.

I would like to put a call out asking for the following
information -

1) town of origin,

2) original surname

3) surname change

4) place
where the change took place eg. country, port of entry

5) approximate
year

6) any other information regarding the name change

Please could you put this call out for me.

The information can be sent to me privately - Rose Lerer Cohen
roseron@shani.net
and I will enter the information onto a database which I will share with
you in the future.

Thank you very much for your help
Looking forward to hearing >from you
