Does the Roeland Street Synagogue still exist? If so,
is it likely to hold a record for this wedding? If
not, would the records of this synagogue be held
somewhere else?
This raised a question for me too. My father had his barmitzvah in Cape Town
in 1902, the ceremony taking place either in the old Gardens Synagogue or
the Roeland Street Shul. It is likely that it was indeed at Roeland Street,
as this shul was established largely by refugees who fled or were expelled
from the Transvaal during the Boer War - my family as British citizens
amongst them.

While I tried unsuccesfully to obtain records >from the Gardens Shul, I
didn't follow up the Roeland Street possibility. If anybody knows the answer
to Adam's query whether the records of this shul still exist, this
information would be of great interest to me as well.
